The Story of a handwoven pieace of wearable art named Jade

From spring scarves 2012

From the name of the precious stone, a word that reached English from Spanish, where it literally means '(stone of the) bowels'. It was so called because it was believed to have the magical power of providing protection against disorders of the intestines. The vogue for this word as a given name developed later than that for other gemstone names, possibly because it sounds the same as the vocabulary word denoting a broken-down old horse or a nagging woman. It came to notice in the early 1970s when the daughter of the English rock star Mick Jagger was so named, peaking in popularity through the 1990s. In 2002 the name became famous as that of Jade Goody, a remarkably cheerful but ill-informed contestant on Channel 4's reality TV show Big Brother. Jade is also an alternative birthstone for July. Jade was so much fun to make. She was pretty easy going, and balanced, being true to her name. I had planned on weaving her with all aqua yarn, but as we were working together, she told me that she wanted some gold. I decided to listen to her, and was glad that I did, I loved how the colors looked together. I am learning to always take the advice of the scarf, they know far more about what they are ment to be when I do.

Green is the color of nature, fertility, life. Grass green is the most restful color. Green symbolizes self-respect and well being. Green is the color of balance. It also means learning, growth and harmony. Green is a safe color, if you don't know what color to use anywhere use green.

I hope that Jade brings self-respect, well being and balance into the life of her new owner.

Green is favored by well balanced people. Green symbolizes the master healer and the life force. It often symbolizes money. It was believed green was healing for the eyes. Egyptians wore green eyeliner. Green eyeshades are still used.  Friday is the day of green. I think that it's pretty cool that Friday is the day of green and Jade was born on a Friday.
