Clouds, handwoven and embroidered scarf

I've been working on this piece for awhile and am so excited to see if finished. The piece is handwoven and then embroidered. I used much thicker yarn than I normally do to embroidery, and am really happy with the texture. This scarf is so soft, once you put it on, you'll never want to take it off.

Works in Progress

I've had so many ideas lately that I just can't keep up. So I've been working on several projects at once. Some that are on the loom, and some that I am able to take with me in the car while traveling. Here are a few photos of works in progress. I am hoping to complete all of these projects over my Thanksgiving break, however time is quickly ticking away.

Family Thanksgiving

I love getting together with family for Thanksgiving. This year we went to my mom's sister's home in State College. My cousins just had a new baby girl, she was only three days old when we got to see her. We all slept over Wednesday night, and packed with house with 15 people.

My husband and cousin both love to bake and we had enough wonderful deserts to feed the whole neighborhood. But I wasn't complaining, I have such a sweet tooth. I was in all my glory.

New Yarn from the Mannings

 Yesterday I went to the Mannings, my favorite place to go shopping, to purchase some new yarn. I'm so excited to start using this new yarn.

Wedding Photos edited

I wanted to play around with editing some photos from the wedding. I use a variety of programs when editing photos depending on what I want to do. I used Picnik.com to create these. The program is free, so if you've never tried it, check it out. It's very user friendly.

The Color Purple

I haven't made a flair scarf in awhile, but had a request for a purple one. Here's what I made. I forgot how much yarn I go through when making these. This was six yards long when I took it off of the loom and 14 inches wide. I was going to keep track of what movies I watched while making it, but forgot to write them down. I'll have to do that next time.

Candice and Brian Wedding, Overlook Barn

My lovely friend Candice married Brian yesterday. It was a wonderful day. The reception was held at the Overlook Barn in Lancaster, Pa, such a pretty place. The bride and her friends created paper flowers for all of the center pieces. On the upstairs level they had a photobooth for friend and family to take pictures. The photobooth was made complete with masks for people wear.
